The TWIN Award (Tribute to Women in Industry) is a distinguished honor presented to women whose outstanding achievements mark them as leaders and role models in business and in the community. Since the inception of the TWIN Awards in 1980, over 480 businesswomen have been honored who have made outstanding contributions to their professions and/or community.

Professional Women Connecting on Issues of Life and Faith
Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month from Noon - 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church - inside Ellis Hall Room (1306 Hampton Street, Columbia). Each month we have a program that includes a dynamic speaker with an inspirational message. Please join us for a special time of fellowship and encouragement.
You can park in the church lot on Washington Street - this is first-come, first-served or you also can park in the garage on the corner of Hampton and Marion Streets – 1st level on the exit side - Spaces are marked “For Church Parking.” RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or pay online below.

Sherri Logan is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she became involved with a Cru, a Christian campus organization. Upon graduation she joined their staff and worked several years on various college campuses. She and her husband, Skid, then spent 17 years with FamilyLife Ministry bringing the ŇWeekend to RememberÓ marriage conferences to cities across the Southeast. Since 2007 they have traveled internationally with author and speaker Josh McDowell and now additionally with the work of the International School Project. Skid and Sherri have five children and reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
At this month's talk, we'll be looking at Christmas backwards. Instead of looking back 2000 years to the first Christmas, letŐs go back much farther to 2000 BC and race forward layering histories and cultures along the way. See how the stage was perfectly and strategically set for this remarkable birth.

Palmetto Center for Women would like to congratulate Wendy Broderick on her new role as Chief Development Officer at the YMCA of Columbia. Wendy has designed and executed a comprehensive fundraising plan including annual, capital and planned giving to develop sustainable support for the Y, and under her leadership the YMCA of Columbia’s annual support campaign has grown by 68%. She has been with the Y for 13 years and prior to her role in development, Wendy led the YMCA of Columbia through the start up of the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA as Branch Executive Director. She currently serves on various boards throughout the Midlands including Sustainable Midlands, Historic Columbia Foundation, the Blythewood Rotary Club and the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce. Wendy holds a number of professional certifications including Certified Fund Raising Executive.
Due to her new position, Wendy Broderick will be stepping down as Executive Director of Palmetto Center for Women. YMCA of Columbia is committed to hiring a new executive director dedicated to furthering the mission of Palmetto Center for Women and a seamless transition of leadership.

2012 TWIN Awards
The 2012 TWIN Awards luncheon was held on November 9th , 2012 at the Columbia Marriott. Governor Nikki Haley delivered the keynote as 39 women of achievement were honored. TWIN Award recipients include: Elisabeth Bischofberger, Inspiring Young Women Award, Barbara Blau, Entrepreneurship Award, Renee Brooks, Corporate Award, Regina Hampton Brown, Volunteerism Award, Anna Elsey Cavanagh, Government Award, Catherine Horne, Health & Wellness Award, Lee Hubbard Lumpkin, Arts Award, and Dr. Pamela Martin Wilson, Education Award. The Palmetto Center for Women Award was presented to The Leadership Institute at Columbia College. Please stay tuned for information on the 2013 TWIN Awards to be held in the Fall.
